Mono Cromático is the photographic work of Jorge Rendón — El Mono — a photographer and graphic designer with more than two decades behind the lens.
It began in 2005, during a trip to New York City while he was living in Miami. The energy of the streets around Times Square drew him to street photography and to the high-contrast black-and-white language that continues to define his work today.
His visual sensibility is rooted in neorealist and European cinema, influenced by films such as The Bicycle Thieves, 8½, and Breathless, and shaped by photographers including Henri Cartier-Bresson, Ansel Adams, and Vivian Maier. His photographs seek out people in their natural environments and the architecture that frames them, always chasing the fleeting moment before it disappears.
Founder of Mono Cromático Studio, Jorge works at the intersection of photography and graphic design, a space where both disciplines coexist, influence one another, and continually inspire his work.
